Deli Managers

Various Nesters Market locations in the Fraser Valley area are seeking to fill the position of a Deli Manager. We are keen on finding individuals who can ensure the smooth operations of our Deli department, in terms of sales and daily operations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


  • Supervise, train and develop team members in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Execute policies, programs and procedures defined for deli operations
  • Direct and enforce company policies to deli employees
  • Delegate responsibilities to department employees
  • Ensure maximum sales and profit margin goals are being achieved
  • Generate weekly department schedules
  • Ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, and sanitation are maintained
  • Contribute to company efficiency by offering suggestions and recommendations to store manager
  • Assist guests with product recommendations and locations, requests, and special orders
  • Deal with customer concerns and/or complaints
  • Practice suggestive selling techniques with customers
  • Accurately and efficiently weigh, package, and/or wrap products
  • Fill and display deli products for appealing and fresh look
  • Assist in receiving, unloading and stocking of merchandise
  • Merchandise, price, label and stock all deli products
  • Ensure accuracy of store signage with regards to pricing

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:


  • At least two years of retail or customer service experience, preferably in management
  • Prior deli knowledge/experience is an asset
  • Minimum high school Diploma
  • Food safety certification preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Superb customer service skills with a desire to provide a great shopping experience for customers
  • Ability to work in a safe and responsible manner
  • Able to work independently or in a collaborative team environment
  • Available to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays if necessary
  • Able to stand, lift, and handle up to 50 pounds
